Grand Vessel of Power vs OxyHealth Fortius 420

This is the comparison where the safety record is part of the specification. The Fortius 420 publishes the higher pressure and the larger internal diameter. It also appears in both 2025 FDA MAUDE flash-fire death reports under product code CBF, in each case during unsupervised self-treatment. Both facts are on the record and a buyer needs both.

The differences that actually decide it

Specification differences, with what each one means for a buyer.
DifferenceWhat the published specifications say
PressureOxyHealth publishes up to 3.0 ATA / 29.4 psi; Prestige publishes an adjustable 1.3–2.0 ATA. On this specification the Fortius wins outright.
Size, and what each one publishesThese two publish opposite halves of the answer. OxyHealth publishes a 42 in internal diameter and no length and no external footprint — the occupant-fit number without the room-planning number. Prestige publishes 79 × 34 × 60 in externally, which is the room-planning number, and does not publish internal dimensions at all. Neither set is complete, and you should ask each vendor in writing for the half they leave out.
WeightPrestige publishes ≈800 lb. OxyHealth publishes no weight, which for a steel vessel is a significant gap: floor loading and the delivery path both depend on it.
Compressor and filtrationOxyHealth publishes a double-headed oil-less 1/3 hp compressor with 0.01 micron inline filtration and UL certification. Prestige publishes no compressor specification for its hard shell line. On this specification OxyHealth wins.
PricePrestige publishes $33,000. OxyHealth publishes no price. A published price is not a better chamber, but it is a better buying process.
Adverse-event recordTwelve death reports are indexed under product code CBF in FDA's MAUDE database. The two most recent, both with event date 2025-07-09, both involve an OxyHealth Fortius 420 during self-treatment; one report notes the person had recently completed a safety and certification course. FDA's August 2025 letter to health care providers recommends that the patient be properly monitored and supervised for the duration of treatment. This is not an argument that the chamber is defective — FDA states the root cause of the recent fire events is not known — it is an argument against unsupervised solo use of any oxygen-enriched chamber.

Who should buy which

Prestige Hyperbaric Grand Vessel of Power

If you need a documented footprint, a published weight, a published price and a 2.0 ATA ceiling is enough, the Grand Vessel of Power is the easier chamber to plan an installation around.

OxyHealth Fortius 420

If you genuinely need pressures above 2.0 ATA in a private setting and a 42 in internal diameter, the Fortius 420 is the chamber that publishes those capabilities, and no Prestige model matches its pressure except the 2.5 ATA Pro. Read the MAUDE reports and FDA's 2025 letter before you operate any chamber alone, whichever you buy.

Commercial interest: We sell and install hyperbaric equipment, including Prestige Hyperbaric chambers, and we service chambers from most manufacturers named on this page. Read the verdict above with that in mind — and note that it does not always land on the equipment we sell.

Neither block above is a medical recommendation, and neither chamber is presented as treating any condition. See the evidence table for what published research does and does not establish, and the cost calculator for the five-year picture beyond purchase price.
